Islamabad: The Economic Coordinating Committee (ECC) of the cabinet on Thursday. Instruct the exporter to ensure that the goods will be delivered within 45 days of quota allocation.

according to the details The order came during a meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordinating Committee (ECC), chaired by Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.

To facilitate sugar cane exports, the ECC, after detailed discussions, has approved the revised conditions for the Provincial Sugarcane Board to allocate quotas within seven (07) days from the date of issuance of the Notification.

The ECC decides that remittances must be received in advance through banking channels. or within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of LC opening for sugar exports.

The Ministry of Commerce has submitted a summary of sugar exports with proposals from SBPAC and PSMA regarding payment terms and processing time for export.

I was informed that the ECC had authorized the export of 250,000 tonnes of sugar as of January 3, 2023.

However, stakeholders in the sugar export process raised some questions.
